“THE CONSUMER’S NOT A MORON, SHE’S YOUR WIFE”

This very famous phrase is from advertising great, David Ogilvy. While he has long since passed, his agency Ogilvy & Mather carries on today. While a Britisher who was famous for “tongue in cheek” remarks, the logic rings true. Here’s why:

  1. WRITE FOR THE CUSTOMER: This seems so basic, but it’s often not done. Determine what your customer is looking for and meet their needs. Write for them, not for you.
  2. PHOTOGRAPHS THAT ARE YOURS: Whether you take them with your smartphone or hire a professional, pics are extremely important. You make your site look real when you take some pictures out on the job.
  3. CUSTOMER REVIEWS: How will the customer determine if she (he) can trust you? Your reviews, of course! But don’t cut and paste them. Make sure there is a link to them on your website so the prospect can see that you have not curated them.
  4. SITE MUST LOAD FAST: To really see how fast…or slow…your site is, open the Incognito Window on your browser and search for your site there. This way you’ll learn how the future customer is experiencing your site.
  5. GOOGLE BUSINESS PROFILE (GBP): This is as important as your website. Make sure it is current, has plenty of pictures, your hours are current, and your primary business category is correct. If you have more than one location, make a new GBP for each of them.
  6. FREE ADS ON GBP: You can change these weekly and better engage with your prospect. Take advantage of this today.
  7. ENHANCE YOUR WEBSITE WITH GOOGLE ADS: For total market penetration, adding a Google Ads campaign or two is the way to go. In most markets this can be as little as a  $2500 monthly investment. It will be well worth the return.

We’ve been at this for nearly 25 years. You can bank on our priceless extra of experience.

Onward & Upward!
